Overview
Covantex was created to empower patients and medical professionals globally alike through our comprehensive telemedicine platform. Our proprietary telehealth software is offered as a Software as a Service (SaaS) product providing a turnkey electronic health technology platform for delivery of healthcare over the internet and mobile technologies in a fully localizable package.
Our platform includes everything needed to provide telemedicine services - a complete cloud-based HIPAA compliant ePHI solution with integrated secure HD video conferencing, online prescription ordering coupled with SMS, MMS and eMail integrations to facilitate physician scheduling and virtual consults as well as integrated payment gateway integration for billing patients.
We also have a unique forms management system that facilitates creating webforms for labs, radiology, pharma, behavioral health and many other specialties.
Covantex, through its operations in the USA, has an array of contracts and processes to support the technology. Also related to patient confidentiality and EMR, Covantex has processes and established contractual relations to manage patient data sensitivity across medical professionals in line with strict USA laws and standards.
HIPAA Compliant EMR
Secure Medical Records
Covantex’s EMR provides a secure HIPAA compliant storage for the patient’s electronic protected health information (ePHI). All medical history records as well as documents are stored in a HIPAA compliant data center (AWS or Azure).
A patient’s medical data is encrypted to FIPS 140-2 standards at rest using the industry standard AES-256 encryption algorithm. When in transit, Covantex employs secure 1024-bit encrypted SSL.
Two Factor Authentication (2FA)
According to a recent report, stolen, reused, and weak passwords remain a leading cause of security breaches. Unfortunately, passwords are still the main (or only) way many systems protect their users.
At Covantex we enforce 2FA for all system access and offer two types of 2FA - SMS and Software token based authentication.
SMS Text Message
SMS-based 2FA interacts directly with a user’s phone. After receiving a username and password, our platform sends the user a unique one-time passcode (OTP) via text message. The user must then enter the OTP in our application before he or she is granted access.
However SMS is considered to be the least secure way to authenticate users. Because of this, we also offer upgraded security through the use of
